Report:
A fine day for a ride, good weather throughout and no mechanical problems. We managed three road closures, the A338 rail bridge at Grove was closed as were the roads at Eaton and Foxcombe. Still al were passable on a bike.

We cycled from Grove through Southmoor up to Cumnor. The faster riders went ahead through Sandleigh then over Boars Hill and back through Abingdon to Chilton for tea. The rest followed down to Sandleigh and then passed around the old airfield to Shippon then through Abingdon to Chilton Nurseries.

Brian and Steve Swanton went off-road to the Ridgeway and back to Grove, the rest either peeled off and made their own way to Abingdon or Wantage the rest completed the ride back to Grove Steventon, Cow Common and the A338 to Grove, as usual the West wind made the trek across Cow Common hard into the wind.

The short ride covered 37.5 miles and the fast ride covered 40.5 miles.

Report:
Led by Diane and Des, fifteen riders started from Grove. Diane led the slower riders through East Challow, down A417 before branching right over the splendid new railway bridge at Denchworth, through Stanford to Gainfield, Charney, Lyford, Hanney and thence back to Grove over the newly reopened railway bridge on the A338. Des had pressed on very quickly with the faster riders in an extra loop from Gainfield through Hinton Waldrist to Southmoor and Charney before rejoining the slower route at Hanney. Distances 33 and 36km and all back at Grove by 20h15 in the gathering gloom. Thanks Steve for sweeping along the way.
