Start Time:

Start Location:

Description:
Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Half day ride (45-55km / 30-40 miles), with a tea stop, at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph).

Having another attempt at the Saturday special ride cancelled in January - so a bit longer then the normal half day ride.

Trip to Hungerford - where we will stop for coffee / early lunch.

Report:
Despite the mizzly weather (a bit disappointing following the springlike weather earlier in the week) everyone approached the ride with enthusiasm and energy. The route followed minor roads wherever possible, which was good to avoid the traffic - especially where there was low visibility. However in places it was almost like off road riding, (mud, gravel, potholes and bumps), so we took it a bit steady.
Cafe stop in Elianes to warm up and to refuel after the hilly ride there - and before the hilly ride back.
Thanks to everyone for making it a great ride.

A change to the originally published ride as I've realised I'm not fit enough to lead it!
We're now going to Coleshill via Shrivenham before skirting Carterton to have the second cafe stop at Aston before returning back to Wantage.
58 miles, with not too much climbing, but I think it will still be the longest ride of the year so far.
